Rodeo athletes all over the world enjoy the fit, style and comfort of CINCH jeans. They are considered the go-to jeans for the rodeo arena, and are often paired with CINCH classic fit shirts, which offer superior comfort and utility, featuring longer tails and sleeves and a fuller body for optimum range of motion. While hard work, long hours, grit and determination are the keys to success when it comes to winning gold buckles, these five CINCH Athletes also benefit from knowing they can count on stylish, great-fitting CINCH clothes that are built to last. You can see them this year in their favorite CINCH gear at the National Finals of Rodeo in Las Vegas, December 7th through the 16th.
Hailing from a rodeo family – his dad Skeeter is a six-time NFR Qualifier in Saddle Bronc Riding, and his siblings Wyatt, Sam and Tess, all compete in rodeo – Zeke Thurston is carrying on the family tradition with his first world champion saddle bronc riding title in 2016. Zeke made his love of CINCH jeans official early in his career when he joined the CINCH team in 2015, before his first NFR qualification. He became the first saddle bronc rider to win the $100,000 at the calgary stampede three years in row. It's no surprise that a winner like Zeke prefers to wear the number 1 fit of CINCH jeans, the white label. This mid-rise, relaxed fit offers exceptional comfort, and the dark rinse that Zeke sports looks just as good with rodeo shirts as it does with a sports jacket.
2016 is a year Tyson Durfey won't soon forget. He and his wife, Shea, an Australian-born country singer, welcomed their daughter, Praise Royal, just in time for the three of them to celebrate Tyson's World Championship win in December. Tyson qualified for his 10th trip to Las Vegas in Tie-Down Roping, and has found success on the rodeo circuit while wearing his two favorite jean fits: CINCH Carter jeans, a mid-rise, relaxed boot cut known by its iconic back pocket stitch, and the CINCH White Label, a straight-leg cut that comes in numerous washes and finishes. Tyson credits his success to dedication, a great horse, practice and his faith.
In 2014, Caleb Smidt suffered what many doctors called a career-ending injury when he dislocated his ankle, breaking his tibia and fibula in three spots. This injury threatened to stop a promising career that began right out of college when he won the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) all-around championship and reserve Tie-Down Roping championship in 2010, followed by a 2013 overall and Tie-Down Roping Rookie of the Year titles in professional rodeo. Caleb was determined to bounce back, and he did by earning the PRCA World Champion Tie-Down Roper title just 14 months after his injury, becoming one of just 39 men to win the title. Caleb's favorite jean fit on and off the rodeo circuit is the CINCH Grant fit, among the most popular CINCH relaxed fits, which comes in numerous finishes and pocket designs.
Jade Corkill, a professional heeler and a three-time world champion, has had a rope in his hand since he was a boy — helping his mom rope and doctor cows on their Nevada ranch. When it comes to his jeans, this Team Roping champion heeler loves the fit of both the CINCH Carter and Grant fits, as they both pair well with western attire and cowboy boots. Jade is back in Las Vegas this year logging this his ninth NFR qualification, having won many of the major rodeos, including: Salinas, CA; San Antonio, TX; Pendleton, OR; Houston, TX; and, most impressively, three consecutive World Championships from 2012 to 2014. Even with all of Jade's success in the sport, he counts his biggest accomplishment is the joy of experiencing life with his wife and two young sons.
Growing up in Louisiana, Shane Hanchey developed a love of sports, a passion still in evidence today. Shane is devoted to building a rodeo career, often while wearing CINCH Grant jeans. Not only is the fit popular with CINCH customers, but it's notable because a new style, such as September's rugged medium stonewash, is released each month. From riding some of the best equine athletes – such as Si, the 2017 PRCA/AQHA Tie-Down Roping Horse of the Year – to consistently showing the world that hard work and determination can help you accomplish anything that you put your mind to, Shane proudly wears his 2013 World Champion Tie-Down Roper buckle while making his seventh consecutive trip to the bright lights of Las Vegas this December.
